Orthopedic Spine Surgeon

Dr. Benjamin Mitchell is a fellowship trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon who specializes in adult degenerative conditions, adult and adolescent deformity, traumatic spine injuries, motion preservation surgery, and primary and secondary spinal tumors. He can utilize minimally invasive techniques with robotics and navigation as well as perform open surgery, depending on the patient’s needs. He has a passion for providing individualized treatment plans through close collaboration with his patients and fellow physicians. Dr. Mitchell’s goal is to make each patient feel as though they are being treated as family.

Dr. Mitchell completed his medical training at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington DC. He then went on to complete his orthopedic training at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. After completing residency, he moved to Miami, FL where he served as a fellow in orthopedic spine surgery at the University of Miami Hospital where he worked closely with Dr. Frank Eismont and Dr. Joseph Gjolaj.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and is an active participant in numerous educational conferences and meetings including North American Spine Society and Cervical Spine research society. Outside of work Dr. Mitchell enjoys the outdoors, maintaining an active lifestyle and spending time with family and friends. He loves to play tennis, golf, hike, and ski in his free time. Originally hailing from Kansas City, he is also a lifelong Chiefs fan.
